The Location
Sheffield Lake (Wikimapia view) is located about 13km north of Tamworth, Ontario in Lennox Addington County in the Township of Stone Mills in the ‘Land O’ Lakes’ tourist region. Sheffield Lake is a widening of the Salmon River. which begins near Kennebec Lake at Arden, Ontario and empties into the Bay of Quinte near Belleville.
An easy, 2-1/2 hour drive from Toronto via Hwy. 401 East to Napanee, then north on County Road 41 to Tamworth. From Tamworth travel north through quiet woodlands and pastures on the Arden Road.
Ottawa is about 2 hours away via Hwy. 7 From the village of Arden travel south on the Arden Road. Closer still are Napanee 45km, Kingston 70km, and Belleville 80km.
